Week one-fourty-eight of Operation Graphite – theme: Nicolas Cage.

Shock - Super Cage

After a quick look on IMDB, it looks like Nick Cage will not be unemployed any time soon. Back to back films shooting and in production for him, so we won’t be missing any of his national treasures for awhile. Still, for all the films he has, or will make, few compare to the one that never got made. Along with Jodorowsky’s Dune, and Kubrick’s Napoleon, Tim Burton’s take on Superman, staring Cage as Kal El, might have been the greatest thing ever… or worse than his planet of the Apes. It’s hard to say which way, but it would have been epic, good or bad.

The theme selected for week one-fourty-eight of Operation Graphite will be: Nicolas Cage.

hi

Put down the egg nog, its time to crack out the fancy pencils that aunt Helga got you for Christmas. Inspired by a coworkers completely, Nick Cage themed Christmas tree, which was as frightening as you would imagine, this weeks theme will focus on, Nicolas Cage. A unique actor, who is mostly known for absurd performances. And then, after having fun with a few rolls, can totally pull off a top notch performance when he feels like it. If he just were a joke, and a meme, it would feel cruel, but since he can pull out his A game once and a while, I wouldn’t be surprised if Cage is in on the joke.

Please submit any drawing or painting, using traditional or digital media, that fits the theme: Nicolas Cage.

All art work is due on Thursday, 1.1.14 Submissions will be published the following Friday, 1.2.15.
