Week Eight of Operation Graphite – Theme: “My Cool Uncle.”

Ok, so some themes are not as popular as others. Maybe Stamos scared people away, who knows. Apparently some themes are not even popular with the Squad Leader who Chose the Theme this Week! That soldier has a month of double KP duty and owes me 100 push ups.

Here are the Uncles.

Week Eight contributors.

shawnbrookwilliams – Uncle This!

Shock – Uncle in Cali

Thanks for having my back SWA!

The theme selected for week nine will be Anthropomorphic.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthropomorphism

Pretty much the bread and butter of cartoons and animation, an Anthropomorphic character is any animal, or inanimate object in human like form. From Bugs Bunny to the talking candle stick in Beauty and the Beast, or from Rocket Raccoon to to the Battle Toads, Anthropomorphic characters are everywhere. Anthropomorphism even goes back to ancient Mythology with characters like the Tengu and Minotaur.

Anthropomorphism is so rampant, it has even become a fetish. And with that note, rule one of week nine is NO FURRIES. No Furries, no Anthropomorphic Erotica. Your topless rendering of Chetara might be great, but we want to keep very far from the realm of the Furry that I don’t even want to get near there, or even the direction headded there for this weeks Grey Op.

Any drawing or painting, using traditional or digital media, depicting a cartoonish or realistic Anthropomorphic character is fair game, as long as it isn’t a Furry.

All art work is due on Thursday 4.5.12. Submissions will be published the following Friday 4.6.12.

The theme selected for week eight will be “My Cool Uncle.

For those of you just dying to do a portrait of John Stamos (AKA Uncle Jesse) here is your chance.

Go, Google “Cool Uncle,” and you get a lot of Stamos. And for those of you who say Uncle Owen, Sorry. While he meant well, he wasn’t really cool. Don’t despair, maybe we will have a “Sweet Aunt who always has blue milk for you” theme next week… probably not.

Please submit a drawing or painting, using traditional or digital media that fits with the theme “My Cool Uncle.” It can be your real uncle, a made up one, or someone who just seems enough like family to bestow the title “Uncle” upon.

All art work is due on Thursday 3.29.12. Submissions will be published the following Friday 3.30.12.
