Week one-0-seven of Operation Graphite – theme: Sherlock Holmes.

Shock - Cushing

I’d have to dig a little more, but were John Watson and Sherlock Holmes the first buddy detective duo in literature? While many characters have solved mysteries, gone on, quests or campaigns with a significant ally, Holmes and Watson are nearly inseparable . Whether played by Cumberbatch and Freeman, Rathbone and Bruce, or Data and LaForge, one just isn’t complete without the other.

Shock – Cushing

The theme selected for week one-o-seven of Operation Graphite will be: Sherlock Holmes.

I realize season three has now aired in the US, but please, no spoilers for the Benedict Comberbatch incarnation, I’ve yet to see it. There are many incarnations of Sr Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous detective duo. Beginning with, A Study in Scarlet, first published in 1887, there have been more adaptations of the Consulting Detective’s adventures than ones written by Doyle. People never seem to get tired of a good mystery, but it’s a cunning and quirky detective that truly stands the test of time.

Please submit any drawing or painting, using traditional or digital media, that fits the theme: Sherlock Holmes.

All art work is due on Thursday, 3.20.13. Submissions will be published the following Friday, 3.21.13
