The theme selected for week two-fifty-four of Operation Graphite will be – Armor.

Alright, were done with the not so subtle jabs at the unfortunate choice for POTUS mk45. It’s back to basics, good old fashioned geekery. The theme is armor; it can be historical armor, fantasy armor, living things that are naturally armored, the modern military armor branch or even the metaphorical concept of armor. Whatever makes you feel save.

Please submit any drawing or painting, using traditional or digital media, that fits the theme: Armor.

Week one-fourty-six of Operation Graphite – theme: Stronghold.

This week on backyard blitzkrieg, we show you how to zombie proof your house with simple goods found in any supermarket.

While castles are the more classic and beautiful form of stronghold, other types of fortifications should not be ignored. One stronghold of note is would protect a family from Squiotes (North American, carnivorous, pack hunting squirrels) using only day to day house hold items.

This Grey OP will be a shift from the mostly figurative studies of past themes, to more of an architectural focus. The castles and fortresses of the medieval world are often the first thing that comes to mind when one things of strongholds. These obsolete military structures still inspire the imagination, but any defensive structure can be a stronghold. Whether defending against orcs, wildlings, Jehovah’s witnesses, or zombies, a stronghold is that last fortification between you and crushing defeat.
