Week thirty eight of Operation Graphite – Theme: Beer Wine or Spirits Label.

It usually has no bearing on the quality of the drink, yet many people choose a wine, beer or type of alcohol based on the label. Somehow being able to hire a better graphic designer must mean being able to hire a better brewmaster, or winemaker. And the reverse must be true of a really poor and crudely designed label, or at least thats how most people think. Then again, Trader Joe’s has a wine where the label depicts a Roman prostitute holding a drunk’s head as he vomits, and it’s fantastic.

The theme selected for week thirty eight of Operation Graphite will be: Beer, Wine or Spirits Label.

Time to relax with a fine wine, or maybe a hearty ale; better yet, how about a well aged scotch. This week we’ll design the label for the alcohol of our choice. It can be anything from the highest quality champagne, to the foulest homemade whiskey. The labels do not have to have pop culture references, but you are free include them if you wish. They can be for your dream winery, or for the beer you home brewed once in college. Any original label is fair game.

Please submit a drawing or painting, using traditional or digital media, of your Beer, Wine or Spirits Label.

All art work is due on Thursday 10.25.12. Submissions will be published the following Friday 10.26.12.
