Over a century ago, a 35 year old jack of all trades got fed up the crapy, dime store, pulp fiction novels of the time, and decided to write his own. That story, originally published serially in a monthly magazine as, Under the Moons of Mars, was later published in it’s complete form as, A Princess of Mars. It was this seminal work of planetary romance that introduced us to John Carter, A former confederate soldier who finds himself transported to Mars where there is a war between red and green Martians. Oh, and no one wears clothes. The book is really clear about the fact that everyone is naked. Don’t image search Dejah Thoris at work, trust me.

Please submit any drawing or painting, using traditional or digital media, that fits the theme: John Carter of Mars.

All art work is due 9 P.M. PST on Friday, 11.27.15. Submissions will be published the weekend of 11.28.15
