Week 180: Deadpool

Posted: 08/06/2015 in Uncategorized

The theme selected for week one-eighty of Operation Graphite will be: Deadpool.

A long time ago in land just a few miles up the 101, a Fox employee leaked test footage for a Deadpool project concept. This CG video with Ryan Reynolds doing VO become a hit online, and a project that might have never seen the light of day got greenlit. Deadpool is mostly know as that character the most spastic goofballs dress up as at conventions. Deadpool is a hyper violent hit man with endless diatribe of tasteless humor, that amuses pretty much no one else in the Marvel universe but him. Protected by a mutant healing factor, Deadpool can also break the 4th wall, which can kind of be a super power at times. Deadpool was created by Rob Liiefeld, a comic book artist best known for his questionable anatomy comprehension. However, because of his wise cracking mercenary character, all is forgiven. He also created Cable too, who is also pretty bad ass. Now Deadpool is officially a move, and the first hard R rated comic book movie in the X-men cinematic universe. We’ll se how well that does, if successful perhaps more R rated comic book movies? Wolverine 3? (fingers crossed)

Please submit any drawing or painting, using traditional or digital media, that fits the theme: Deadpool.

All art work is due 9 P.M. PST on Friday, 8.14.15. Submissions will be published the weekend of 8.15.15
