Operation: Fury Road

Week one-sixty-seven of Operation Graphite – theme: Fury Road.

Shock - Immortan Joe

The hype machine is nearly reaching the point to where I start to worry. The new Mad Max has been one of the films I have been looking forward to the most. The trailers look amazing, and now the reviews are also coming in, lavishing the film with praise. So now I worry, will the expectations be too high to ever be met? I was not suprised that the new Avengers was OK, but not amazing. I couldn’t really get excited by the trailers, as much as I love those characters. Yet, trailers can be deceiving. Will the energy of the trailer’s booming Verdi and insane auto carnage deliver for two hours? Seriously, it is one of the best movie trailers I have seen in years. I could almost taste the diesel fumes and desert sand. Fury Road opens this weekend, Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron are the bad ass road warriors, and Immortan Joe, the villain is played by the same Royal Shakespearian actor who played the villain, Toe-cutter, in very first Mad Max. But will there be a Gyro Captain?
