The theme selected for week forty two of Operation Graphite will be: 80’s Cartoons.

I’m pretty sure for most of us here, the 80’s are where we spent our childhood. Back when Saturday Morning Cartoons were the most important part of the week, back when knowing was half the battle. This week we will bask into the wide spectrum of animation from the 80’s. One of the notable genres of animation from the 80’s were the action adventure cartoons. From M.A.S.K. and Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors to the Transformers and Silver Hawks; there were no shortage of adventure cartoons to sell action figures. But there were still plenty of cartoony animated programs, from the obscure like The Raccoons and the short, The Cat Came Back; then there were The Smurfs, Snorks and Disney’s the Wuzzles.

Please submit your drawing or painting, using traditional or digital media, that is inspired by 1980’s Cartoons.

We are taking a week off for Thanksgiving. All art work is due on Thursday 11.29.12. Submissions will be published the following Friday 11.30.12
